Type: Yo-SD Girl Nana
Birthday (Recieved Day): 08/07/08
Purchased from NY Dolpa 3
Esthetics: Lips glossed, makeup to be redone.
Personality: TBD...
Nana finally came~! I'm not very happy with her current makeup since it's a little too plain for me; my favorite Four Sisters have always been the ones with a very sharp look. The best part is now there is someone to buy girl clothes for, it was getting difficult resisting the temptation to dress Roro up in more dresses;;; Also I have a new outfit for the big girls and also a surprise arrival ----- a beautiful Sweet Dreams Tae for one of my friends!
Some pictures I took today - I never have time to do anything for my dolls recently (including buying new clothes ;;;) so I tried to capture their current look.
I did manage to buy these boots for Westley though...he'll finally have his own shoes instead of borrowing the loafers all the time;; I also got confirmation for NYDolpa3 so I'll be going..!!! I'm not planning on getting Irvin and still undecided about Nana, so we'll see as Dolpa gets closer if I'll be purchasing any new dolls then... Otherwise I'm saving up for Kanon, unless Volks releases a new MSD anytime soon *wants to see new MSDs so badly*

Name: カプリ/ Capuri (Puri for short)
Type: MSD Girl Ken (awaiting girl suwarikko body)
Birthday (Recieved Day): 12/02/04
Purchased from Tenshi no Sumika in Akihabara
Esthetics: Eye area shaved, nose sanded with custom faceup. Body seams were sanded and coated, fingers and toes separated.
Personality: Serious and innocent. Being the oldest child, Puri always carries the heaviest burdens. Likes biscotti and cheese sandwiches and fireworks. She is somewhat clumsy and always seems to misplace her eyeglasses...even though they're usually on the top of her head.

Name: フランチェ / Flanché (Flan for short)
Type: MSD Girl Midori in Preschool
Birthday (Recieved Day): 07/03/06
Purchased from Tenshi no Sumika in Shinjuku ALTA
Esthetics: Body seams were sanded and coated, fingers separated. KIPS parts installed.
Personality: A big bully, albeit a very clean and neat one. Flan is the type of girl that would steal candy from kids and kick puppies. She likes to play with Creme and Roro and eat sweets; her favorite is panna cotta. When it rains, she stays at home and make 'teru teru bouzu' with Roro.

Name: ポロイケィ / Poroike (Roro for short)
Type: Yo-SD Boy Puff
Birthday (Recieved Day): 05/10/07
Purchased from Hometown Dolpa Osaka 3 VolksUSA Lottery
Esthetics: Body seams were sanded and coated.
Personality: A cheerful little boy. Very impatient and can't ever sit still. Likes sweet things and bubbles and taking baths. Because he is the youngest he gets all his sisters' toys; his favourite toy right now is 'heehee-san' (rubber duck). He is afraid of being too warm so he always tries to wear as little clothing as he can. His sisters are trying their very best to teach Roro that he can't run around in underpants...

Name: Westley
Type: MSD FCS F-09 Boy (Sunlight skin)
Order Day: 06/10/07
Birthday (Received Day): 08/30/07
Purchased from NYC Dolpa 2
Personality (Tentative): The odd jobs neighbor. Westley delivers their newspaper and milk every morning and is always disturbed to find Roro greeting him in a dress or underpants. His new mission is to teach Roro how to be a real man.

Ahhhh I haven't updated in so long!!!
I've been busy with some real life issues and have had other places to spend money on so my dolls have been neglected as of late...especially since Westley won't be here until next month T3T (only a few more weeks, I can do it!!) I did manage to get a new wig (W-92N in Ivory) and a pair of 18mm Pale Purple with Black Line through Blivy and I still have one of the new Standard MSD blouses on order with CHUNKY. Apparently they didn't have the miniskirt I wanted in stock at any of the Sumikas they visited so I'll have to wait for online order...
The eyes were definitely meant for Flan since I've always wanted her to look similar to her SD13 counterpart Tachibana Jun, but I didn't really have anyone in mind when I bought the wig. I think it fits her well though; Puri looks strange in anything other than brown orz
Today I was over at the Container Store on 58th and used up my gift card a little bit more~ I ended up buying three rolls of different gift wrap as well as some more of those transparent plastic containers, this time in different colors. For the photo above I placed the green container in front of the lights almost to act as a color filter. The background is one of the gift wrap papers; I chose two floral, Victorian designs and a roll of plain black. I've used mainly lighter colors for my doll/figure photography but always, always black for architectural photography, so I thought I might try using darker colors for dolls in the future as well.
This post will be reserved for all things wonderful and NYC Dolpa 2 related, Well..there was also the Dir en grey live that Saturday but that can be found in my LJ for those that are interested. I will post pictures from the Dolpa and try to write a report later after I edit them..there are so many! It'll be in the order I took the photos...
Exclusive kimonos - I'm disappointed that they didn't have a MSD model since that's the size I'm interested in the most. These were gorgeous and I think limited to about 10 or so sets each? I remember a lot of people ended up playing rock-paper-scissors for a chance to buy them. At the very end, even the sets on the models went on sale. They were too expensive and impractical for my dolls (who basically run around in jeans and tshirts), but I would've loved to get my hands on one of the hairpins. Also the Liz that was modelling one of the sets was very pretty.
Full Choice System - The best part was that I finally got to order my Sunlight FCS boy, Westley! It's been like a dream to have Sunlight skin available for order in the United States, and in New York of all places. I think there had been a period of time where it was available at the LA Tenshi-no-Sumika but it was a while ago... There weren't many FCS customers in line that day and I was pretty surprised, since I'm pretty sure there were at least 70 people who applied for it. I ended up being number 8 on the queue and got to chat with Janne from the Den of Angels forum, who was there having a Sunlight elf girl done.
My FCS order was taken Yamanaka Ken-san and I was extremely grateful for him since he was very eager to have everything done exactly the way I wanted it to be. I was provided with samples whenever possible; they didn't have some of the wig color/style combos in nor any hand parts in Sunlight skin. Everything was written directly in Japanese on my order form, unlike some of the others done by the LA employees, who will have to have the English translated into Japanese for the painters and it won't be as accurate as it should be. I brought in examples of the make up and everything so I'm pretty sure that Westley will turn out gorgeous. It was really nice to be able to see some of the FCS heads, especially the beautiful Syo girl. I was also amused by the vast number of Sunlight MSD F09 examples...
Doll Doctor/Beauty Salon - Flan got to go because her elastic was strung reeaaally loose. Also since they were offering KIPS attachment I got a set of those for her too. I thought it was really cute that the doll doctors gave you a little certificate after they fix them for you. The wait was pretty long; I got my ticket before I did my FCS order and even that took about an hour, and it still wasn't my turn. It was worth it though, now she can do some crazy poses XD!
One Offs - Beautiful F34 girl! It was my first time seeing the mold in person and I thought she resembled a younger version of Madoka; the makeup was absolutely gorgeously done. My other favorites are probably the Lucas and School C girl; mainly because they are some of my favorite molds and it was wonderful to be able to see them dressed so finely. In general, all the outfits were amazing, but a bit disappointing since there were no MSDs...(TT⌒TT) The Madoka and Tachibana Jun weren't to my taste though...Madoka looked a bit prude and Jun's makeup was too dramatic for me.
Neither of my friends nor I won anything at the Lottery event during the dinner (´A`。) It was nervewracking to sit through it hoping to win something but at the end...no luck! ( ノД`)ノ I got to take a photo of Flan with the adorable Sei-tenshi won at our table though; the body of the Sei-Tenshi makes me think almost of the SD10 body. If Yo-SD is like SD13, then Sei-tenshi is the baby SD10 XD I was surprised by the sheer number of tenshi given away at the event though, maybe next year I'll win one........!
Also I just bought a Yo-SD Raincoat Set on impulse >3>) I was browsing the international site and noticed that it was in stock after an entire year! It's going to be shipped to my mother so I can save on shipping XD; *doesn't want to pay EMS prices...* I've been looking for a set ever since I missed out in Japan last year. *3*
The Suzumiya Haruhi pinky prototypes are also finally out! I think I'm going to have to cave in and buy the entire set...same thing goes for the Series 6 girls (°⌒°;;a) I'll have to skip on the Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo pinky because it's not very interesting other than the accessories...It's funny since I can definitely get it through the mail order but it's just an issue of budget right now.... For once I welcome delays from Vance Project!
Today I set up a lightbox using some foam core and tracing paper left over from my architecture studio supplies. These photographs are the result, but I had a lot of problems with the lights, which left some of the photos looking slightly washed out. Also, since my DSLR is out being fixed, I'm left with a point-and-shoot Casio camera at my disposal (°へ°a;) It's not a BAD camera per se, but I'm much more used to being able to adjust everything manually rather than have things auto-focused and lighted for me. I'll also have to go pick up some lights soon; right now I'm using a very small economy bulb and my desklamp... ;;;
